Hi there! My name is Ralph Toms, and I’m a passionate fitness and nutrition coach dedicated to helping men ages 35 and older achieve their health and wellness goals. As a former military leader with over a decade of service in the United States Air Force, I understand the physical and mental challenges we go through as we navigate through the different stages of life. It becomes increasingly important to prioritize our physical and mental well-being.

 

My Journey

Like many of you, I’ve experienced the challenges of balancing a busy lifestyle with the desire to stay fit and healthy. After years of trial and error, I’ve discovered the power of combining effective exercise routines with a balanced, nutrient-dense diet and in doing so, I was able to reverse my type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Exercise helps improve insulin sensitivity, and in combination with healthy eating habits, it can reduce the body’s demand for insulin and facilitate diabetes remission. Studies have shown that increasing physical activity along with calorie reduction and weight loss is associated with reversing type 2 diabetes. By incorporating regular exercise, such as brisk walking, and making lifestyle changes like limiting sedentary behavior and following a nutritious meal plan, I was able to achieve better blood glucose control and ultimately put my type 2 diabetes into remission. The benefits of physical activity and exercise extend beyond just glycemic management, positively impacting various aspects of health, including lipid levels, blood pressure, cardiovascular events and mortality. This transformative journey has not only improved my physical appearance but also boosted my energy levels, mental clarity, and overall quality of life.
